Ventilation

The issue of ventilation often tends to be overlooked when the initial proposal for air conditioning is made.  The argument against ventilation tends to be that it is a non essential requirement especially when an open window will normally suffice in order to circulate fresh air. However, this approach of using windows as a source of ventilation, when combined with air conditioning, only serves to cool or heat the environment outside the premises, inevitably contributing to higher energy costs. Ventilation is an integral part of any building management system as it is designed to supply fresh air to a building to meet the needs of the occupants. It provides oxygen, dilutes carbon dioxide and odours to acceptable levels and extracts this stale air outside the building. Poor ventilation could contribute to lower staff performance and dissuade customers from buying.
